Aaron Mattix-Wand, MD
Pediatrics Residency Chief Resident
Biography
Dr. Mattix-Wand grew up in Bethalto, IL and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Some of his fondest memories there include helping lead the student section for the men’s basketball games, for which he takes partial credit for their recent March Madness success…8 years later. He received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University before completing his categorical pediatric residency at Ϲ. After his chief year, he plans to continue training as a Pediatric Hospitalist Fellow and work in Medical Education throughout his career. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outside playing any sport he can, including soccer, sand volleyball, golf, and pickleball as well as participating in the Hoops for Hunger charity event the last 2 years. He also enjoys playing his guitar, attending concerts and shows with friends, and playing card/board games. Fun fact, he has a deck of cards with him at all times. Although this is the farthest he has ever lived from home, Milwaukee and Ϲ have become a home away from home, and he is incredibly excited to stay as a Chief Resident with some of the best co-chiefs you could ask for.
