Research Interests

Dr. Mathieu received her bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from EIA University and CES University in Colombia. In 2024, she earned her PhD in Physiology from the Ϲ (Ϲ), where she focused on neuronal mechanisms controlling the cardiovascular system working with Dr. Curt D. Sigmund. After completing a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Vermont, Dr. Mathieu returned to Ϲ to continue her postdoctoral training with Drs. Justin L. Grobe and Gary C. Mouradian. She is now expanding her expertise to include neuronal mechanisms regulating metabolic and cardiovascular physiology, with a focus on women's health.
