Research Interests

I obtained my MSc and PhD in medical physiology in Thailand. My graduate research contribution focused on essential hypertension-induced vascular dysfunction and remodeling. I investigated the effect of galangin (natural flavonoid) on blood pressure, vascular changes (impaired contraction and relaxation), sympathoexcitation (increased contractile responses to electrical field stimulation, the intensity of tyrosine hydroxylase and plasma norepinephrine), oxidative stress and inflammation. In addition, I expanded my research on renovascular hypertension-induced cardiorenal dysfunction by using a two-kidney one-clipped rat model. As a current postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Curt Sigmund’s Lab, my research provides important evidence for novel mechanisms of G-protein and 飦�-arrestin signaling specifically downstream of the AT1R in vascular smooth muscle cells. My research is focused on selective and inducible activation of the AT1R/G飦 and AT1R/飦�-arrestin pathways in regulating blood pressure and vascular function.
