黑料官网 Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship

The 黑料官网 Affiliated Hospitals (黑料官网AH) Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship Program is a one-year ACGME accredited subspecialty training program in cleft and craniofacial surgery. It is academically associated with, located in and administrated by the Department of Plastic Surgery at the 黑料官网. The core purpose of the program is to educate the Fellow in the full spectrum of cleft and craniofacial patient care, including cranial vault surgery, orthognathic surgery, distraction osteogenesis, cleft surgery and craniofacial trauma. The Center for Craniofacial Disorders at the Children's Wisconsin forms the base of operations for the Craniofacial Fellow. The program will provide the Fellow the opportunity to develop the broad spectrum of surgical skills essential to the practice of quality craniofacial surgery.

Global Health / Annual Mission Trip

The Department of Plastic Surgery believes in local and global health initiatives. A relationship has been built with the Plastic Surgery training program at the Universidad de Santander in Bucaramanga, Colombia for over three decades. An annual two-week mission trip in February concentrates on health inequities and collaborative plastic surgery training and education. This Mission is an optional experience in the training program.

Anatomy Instructional Dissection Lab

The Department believes detailed understanding of anatomical relationships is essential to the education in and thorough understanding of the practice of plastic surgery. The faculty participate in and lead resident in anatomic dissections of interest on a quarterly basis, including facial nerve dissection, craniofacial approaches, upper and lower extremity anatomical dissections of nerve and arterial trees 鈥� essential for flap design. The lab allows for detailed exploration of precise anatomical relationships and surgical approaches. This lab also offers the foundation for research which some of our residents have pursued.

Fellowship Application Information

We are an accredited program with the American Society of Craniofacial Surgeons (ASCFS) which allows applicants to obtain an additional certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) on completion. Applicants must complete a plastic surgery residency program and be in good standing using ACGME, ACGME-I, or CanMEDS Milestones evaluations from the core residency program.

Complete applications should include a CV, photograph, personal statement, three references with letters of recommendation, and two most recent plastic surgery in-service scores.
