Biography

Dr. Sorby completed medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and her residency in psychiatry at the Ϲ (Ϲ). She is an inpatient psychiatrist at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee. Her responsibilities include care of veterans requiring inpatient psychiatric admission due to the severity of their mental illness or addiction and supervision of medical students and residents. She is an assistant professor and associate clerkship director for the psychiatry clerkship at Ϲ. She is a sub-investigator for the VA-BRAVE study (Comparative Effectiveness of 2 Formulations of Buprenorphine for Treating Opioid Use Disorder in Veterans) and a member of the VA's IRB. She is co-chair of the VA Mental Health Division’s JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) committee. Her clinical interests include the intersections of trauma and addiction, psychosis and diversity/equity/inclusion.
