About Me: Growing up in Connecticut, moving to DC, and going to medical school at UF – I’m pretty sure if you told me 10 years ago that I’d end up living in Wisconsin, my first response would’ve been, “Where?!” Regardless, here we are, and I genuinely love being a Wisconsinite! Outside of moving places with no rhyme or reason, I enjoy traveling, sports, and cooking. I also love being outdoors – whether that’s playing in weekly soccer games, walking my two dogs (Tilly & Addy), grilling in the backyard, or hanging with friends by the lake.
Why I Chose Ϲ: Simple answer: the people. After finishing my virtual interview, I remember stepping out of my office and telling my fiancé, “Well, I have news…we may be moving to Wisconsin.” I knew Ϲ Urology had a reputation for excellent surgical training, but I could not have imagined how much I would enjoy working alongside the residents and faculty. The family-like culture paired with the strong focus on resident education is truly what makes this program special.
Favorite Part of Milwaukee: I honestly cannot think of another city that has so much to offer – professional sports, big-name concerts, festivals every weekend, and abundance of amazing restaurants (so many that I have not even tried half of my list) – all while being affordable and nearly free of traffic. I love that my fiancé and I were able to buy a house close enough that I can be at the hospital or downtown in under 12 minutes, all while paying less in mortgage than rent for a small apartment in many other cities. People love to say there is “Midwest-nice,” but I’d take it one step further and say that “Wisconsin-nice” is the next level.
