Biography

Hi! My name is Caroline Kansa, and I am from Oak Park, Illinois. I recently graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in the spring of 2025 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology and Spanish.

I have always wanted to go into the healthcare field but was never certain what path I wanted to take. When I heard about genetic counseling for the first time, I was obsessed. I love how the field intersects medicine, psychotherapy, and education.

While in college, I became even more interested in genetics while I was working as a Medical Childcare Assistant. In this role, I took care of a wide variety of children of varying ages and abilities, and with many incredible life stories.

Alongside my classes at Ϲ, I find enjoyment in many different hobbies, but especially arts and crafts. I always have a million unfinished projects! I also try to take time to nurture my love for music, whether that be seeing concerts, singing karaoke, or having listening parties with friends.
I am so excited to learn more about genetic counseling in the MSGC program, but I am even more excited to see how I grow as a person in my two years here.
