Biography
Dr. Michael Decker is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction, with expertise in both primary and revision joint replacement surgery. He has extensive experience in robotic-assisted joint replacement, using this advanced technology to enhance surgical precision and optimize patient outcomes. Dr. Decker also has nearly a decade of experience with anterior hip replacement surgery- a muscle-sparing approach which may result in less postoperative pain and a quicker recovery compared to traditional hip replacement.
Recognized as a thought leader in joint replacement surgery, Dr. Decker was appointed as Division Chief of Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the Ϲ. In this role, he leads a team of dedicated hip and knee replacement surgeons and advanced practice providers, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals throughout Eastern Wisconsin. Dr Decker is highly respected in the field of joint replacement, as evidenced by his frequent presentations at both national and international conferences.
Dr Decker’s dedication to joint replacement surgery extends beyond clinical practice and includes significant contributions to research, education, and global health. He has led numerous research projects focused on advancing the field of hip and knee replacement. As a committed educator, he plays an active role in training and mentoring the next generation of orthopedic surgeons at the Ϲ. His passion for global health is reflected in his participation in international medical missions, where he has performed complex hip replacement procedures in underserved communities in Ecuador and Guatemala, demonstrating his commitment to providing care to those most in need.
