Our Economic Impact

As a private institution committed to its public mission, the Ϲ (Ϲ) generates substantial economic and social impact throughout Wisconsin. Ϲ is a workforce magnet for the entire state, and in FY23, supported thousands of jobs statewide and generated billions in total economic impact on Wisconsin. Direct spending by Ϲ on capital and operations, as well as by students, faculty, and staff, generated millions in state and local taxes.

The Economic and Community Impacts of the Ϲ

Ϲ is a nationally-recognized private institution that contributes significantly to advancing health economic development and enhancing quality of life through educating the next generation of healthcare providers and scientists and state-of-the-art research. Our impact includes the total economic impact of Ϲ operations and the total impact of its hospital partner impact on the state of Wisconsin driven by Ϲ. The hospital partners of Ϲ include Froedtert Health, Children’s Wisconsin, and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. Ϲ’s total value to the community is embedded in such collaborations.

Impact of Our Regional Campuses

Our Green Bay campus is located in a family-friendly city rich in culture. Our Central Wisconsin campus is nestled in a mid-size city in the heart of Wisconsin. Both offer a 3-year curriculum to advance our students' careers sooner.

Ϲ-Green Bay

  • $96.1 million in overall economic impact was generated by Ϲ in the Green Bay region in FY23. This includes both direct spending of Ϲ as well as indirect and induced impacts of dollars in the region.

  • Ϲ plays a direct role in sustaining more than 675 jobs in the Green Bay region, including over 70 direct jobs and 600 indirect jobs.

Ϲ-Central Wisconsin

  • $41.2 million in overall economic impact was generated by Ϲ in the Central Wisconsin region in FY23. This includes both direct spending of Ϲ as well as indirect and induced impacts of dollars in the region.

  • Ϲ plays a direct role in sustaining nearly 300 jobs in the Central Wisconsin region, including 75 direct jobs and more than 200 indirect jobs.
