AIM Program Dates, Application Requirements and Procedure
Before you start your application
Before beginning your AIM application, please gather the following materials and information:
- A high school transcript. Transcripts can be submitted by directly uploading to the application or emailing them to academicpathways@mcw.edu. Transcripts must be submitted as a PDF.
- The following is the information you will need to know about your evaluators: Name, Title, and Email Address.
How Do I Qualify?
To be eligible for AIM, students must demonstrate a strong interest in medical or allied health careers and meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be at least 16 years old
- Maintain a strong science and math GPA (minimum 2.75)
- Attend a high school in the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) system, a Milwaukee-area charter school, private school, or a surrounding suburban district
- Be a rising junior, rising senior, or June graduate
Eligibility
AIM seeks students who are academically prepared and motivated to participate in a rigorous summer program. Applications are reviewed holistically, considering academic achievement, interest in health sciences, leadership potential, and readiness to participate fully in the program.
Requirements and procedure
To complete your AIM application:
- Submit the online application. Parental or guardian support and permission are required.
- Submit an official high school transcript. Transcripts can be submitted by directly uploading to the application or emailing them to academicpathways@mcw.edu. Transcripts must be submitted as a PDF.
- Submit two electronic evaluations. Within the application, there is a evaluation link that you will need to forward to your evaluators. The following is the information you will need to know about your evaluators: Name, Title, and Email Address. Mailed evaluations or letters of recommendation are not accepted and will not replace the evaluation forms. You should seek evaluations from the following sources:
- High school science teacher (required)
- Guidance counselor, administrative staff, or employer/internship supervisor
- Be available for the full six-week program. The program requires an estimated 40 hours per week.
- Be available for an interview if selected (typically during MPS spring break).
